What a Fantastic Trip

THIS WAS BACK IN FEB...BETTER LATE then NEVER.

After landing at the airport in Denver we headed up to Loveland to visit with Tonya, Joe, Maddie, Aunt Charline and Uncle Pat. We had a great dinner and got to play first at Aunt Charline and Uncle Pat's house and then we got to go to Maddie's house to play. Here Maddie was practicing to be a new big sister. We just found out that Tonya is pregnant =)

The next day we got to go and spend the day with my Grandpa Demlow and Teagan got to meet her Great Grandpa Demlow for the first time. We had a great day and it was so nice to see both Grandpa and Ruby.

We posed for a group picture with Craig, myself, Teagan, Grandpa Demlow and Ruby

Next stop on our trip was Vail. This was the first time Craig and I had ever been to Vail and we were so excited to go skiing. It was amazing timing that Maggie was up in Vail at the same time and we got to spend some time together.

This is in Vail City Lovett, Rylan, Ashtyn, Maggie and Jeff pose for a family photo - how nice of them to line up from shortest to tallest.

Mom and I took Teagan into Vail City to meet up with Maggie and do some window shopping. Mom with Teagan at the Vail ice skating rink.

The second day that Craig and I went skiing we has some fresh snow and we posed for a photo before Craig decided to "try out" the Minturn Mile as he skied out of bounds.

After we went skiing we headed down the Mountain to Evergreen to spend some time with my dad and Delsa.
Dad with Teagan

We went down to the ice rink and took a nice walk, but it was a little windy (that is why you don't see Teagan in her stroller)

The next day we came back to go ice skating together, Dad and Delsa watched Teagan. It was fun I don't think I have every skating on a real frozen lake or if I have it has been a very long time. We even had some light snow fall while we skated, then we joined Dad and Delsa for dinner at the local BBQ place.

We then went to see John, Debbie, Anika and Collin. Anika playing with her big cousins.

I can't believe how big Collin has gotten. He smiled for a quick photo

Anika showing Teagan her new pony

Debbie gives Teagan a great big hug

Craig sat down on the computer and the kids all watched Sesame Street on the the computer.

Every great trip has to come to an end as so this trip came to an end and we flew back to Virginia on Valentine's Day.

Not quite quick enough

I will write more soon to update all the exciting new adventures in the land of Teagan, but before I forget I wanted to let you know that over the last week Teagan has gotten more steady on her feet and can stand on her own and has even take 1-2 steps towards mommy and daddy, but today while I had her in her highchair and I was putting away the dishes she was reaching for her book on the table and screaming. So I did what any untrained first mom does and give her what she wants so she will stop screaming. I know I know reinforce the positive behavior, NOT the negative behavior, but putting that aside I am glad I gave her the book because I go back to putting away the dishes and a hear her "talking" and I look back and she is turning the pages and "reading" something on each page. It might be the cutest thing I have seen her do yet. I tried to get the video camera, but as you guessed it by the title of the blog I was "not quite quick enough" and when I left the room the screaming returned and not the sweet reader...(more later).

January

We started out January celebrating Claire's First Birthday with friends.

Teagan cheered on Claire to blow out the candle.
Her way of singing Happy Birthday with no words.

Finally Claire got to enjoy her cake after a little help from mom and dad with the candle (don't worry Claire, you still get your wish).

Later that week Teagan discovered Jada's dog bowl. Lucky for us Jada was not trying to have a sip at the same time.

Look how proud she is of her discovery.

We celebrated my mom's birthday with dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant and Teagan was so good, which is no longer the guarantee. She sampled on some grapes and bread while we eat. I forgot my camera this night so no pics...sorry.

Mehdi's B-day

Teagan tried her first bite of cheesecake

Christmas

Teagan wore her new dress that Mahin sent her with her initials in it. She played with her own Christmas tree and enjoyed the lights on the big tree.

I love this cute smile...showing off what we call her rabbit teeth.

Teagan got to ride on daddy's shoulder and she loved it.

Grandma Demlow got Teagan a blow-up "Thomas the Train" ball kit. Teagan had so much fun and we were happy to have a playpen that she could play in while we were out in Warrenton. Teagan "tasted" all the different colors to see which she liked the best.

Teagan loves to play with her hair while she is eating so we tried to capture her in action.

Keyvan got Wii for Christmas and we all had fun bowling.
Vanessa shows off her skills here

After her nap Teagan changed into her Christmas PJ's. Waldo came to give her a kiss, maybe he just came by to admire her tummy hanging out of her PJs.

Posing for a picture with mom before she headed back home.

"Three Dog Night" Craig shared the couch with Jada, Pepper and Waldo

Teagan lounging with Grandpa Max and Grandma Amy

Teagan was a party animal and while waiting for her to get tired, I fell asleep while cuddling with Jada.

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we went to the Niak's in Maryland to celebrate the 3rd birthday of Tanya (Craig's youngest cousin). AK, Shareeh, Kevin and Katherine drove out from Michigan to visit for the holidays.

Tanya enjoyed opening her presents

and we all got to enjoy the wonderful cake

Katherine posed with the birthday girl

The Nassiri's were sweet enough to get Teagan a bilingual drum for Christmas.

Teagan showed off her drumming technique

and practiced walking with Grandma Amy

Teagan's favorite part of the evening was playing airplane with Craig.

Finally It's Official

Craig got sworn into the DC bar on Monday December 8th.
Amy, Mehdi, Dave and Molly joined Craig, Teagan and myself down at the DC court of appeals for the ceremony and then went to a great lunch at the Capitol Grill, one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at.

Amy, Mehdi and Teagn right after the ceremony

Family photo op. We are SO PROUD of Craig!!!
