July 2009

We started out the month with a play date with Ethan. What fun!

For July 4th we went out to Warrenton for the day and watched the fireworks from the polo field and then stayed with Amy and Mehdi.

Teagan played in the ball pit during the day. No, that is not food on her mouth that is her first war wound. She fell on the corner of a padded box, but the corner punctured her skin. It was so sad.

Teagan with her Great Great Grandmother

Great way to keep track of Teagan at the field - hehe

Teagan tried on my glasses and I call this her Harry Potter look

At the end of the month we took a trip to Atlantic City. We had a great time.

So Teagan is NOT a fan of fancy dresses...good to know

June - and the summer begins

Craig ran the Lawyers Have Heart 10k. Teagan and I came to cheer him on and Teagan got to enjoy the balloon arches. And wear or play with her new sunglasses

The next day Laura came with Nicki to visit, and we had a great time.

Here is Nikki and Jada

Craig and Nikki catching up

Teagan trying out her new toy. Isn't this suppose to be eaten?

June 18th Teagan gets to meet her great great grandmother for the first time.

Teagan's new fasination is shoes. She loves to put on our shoes and walk around the house and she is so proud when she is able to accomplish this.

Craig turned a blow up raft into a pool for Teagan in our yard, and she had a blast.

We spent Father's Day in Warrenton and had a great time.

We ended up the month with a hike along the Potomac at River Bend Park.

May

May 16th was a rare day when it seemed like everyones (from GW) schedule was open and we were able to get together at Katrina's. We got to meet Henry for the first time and hangout with some buds.

Later Teagan showed Hannah how to shovel food into your mouth as quick as possible.

Teagan now loves to take Jada's leash outside and walk around yelling after Jada as she walks around the yard.

On 5/23 Craig did his first race. Cascade 10K Firechase and my mom did the 1 mile walk with Teagan.

April - fun and busy month

So we started off April with a move to our new house. We took a break from moving for Teagan's first Easter Egg hunt at Keyvan's clubhouse.

Teagan in her new room - she is now in constant motion (running)making the picture taking more challenging.

The following weekend we were able to help celebrate with Katie and Karim at their beautiful wedding at the Georgetown University Church. It was a fabulous affair.

We ended up the month with IMPORTANT birthdays. Teagan turned one and Craig also had a birthday, but now that he is over 30 we stop counting - Right?

Teagan showing off her belly on her birthday. Believe it or not this is before her first cupcake.

Craig helping his little girl open her first birthday present. I'm not sure who is more excited.

Teagan stops long enough for me to get a picture with the birthday girl.

Teagan got a CakeLove cupcake for her first birthday. I will say she was a little hesitant about it at first, but once the sugar hit her blood stream she didn't stop babbling for 15 min straight.

WOW this is GREAT!!! I wonder why my mom hasn't let me have a cupcake before.

Now this is the face we got when we thought she had had enough cupcake and tried to take it away.

Official Birthday Party. We held a combo party for Teagan and Craig. We had so many friends and family over to help us celebrate it was a great day!

Teagan with Kourtney and cute piggy tails. Kourtney is the only one that can get Teagan to sit still long enough for cute hair.

The birthday party theme was Monkeys, because Teagan loves monkeys.

Teagan turns 9 months

Grandma Demlow came by to say hello on her 9 month birthday

We call this the Popeye look - she was doing it for a while when she smiled, but she has stopped doing this look.

Showing off her 2 bottom teeth

Pulling herself up on the back door

Still going back down to crawling to get where she wants to go.

What a Fantastic Trip

THIS WAS BACK IN FEB...BETTER LATE then NEVER.

After landing at the airport in Denver we headed up to Loveland to visit with Tonya, Joe, Maddie, Aunt Charline and Uncle Pat. We had a great dinner and got to play first at Aunt Charline and Uncle Pat's house and then we got to go to Maddie's house to play. Here Maddie was practicing to be a new big sister. We just found out that Tonya is pregnant =)

The next day we got to go and spend the day with my Grandpa Demlow and Teagan got to meet her Great Grandpa Demlow for the first time. We had a great day and it was so nice to see both Grandpa and Ruby.

We posed for a group picture with Craig, myself, Teagan, Grandpa Demlow and Ruby

Next stop on our trip was Vail. This was the first time Craig and I had ever been to Vail and we were so excited to go skiing. It was amazing timing that Maggie was up in Vail at the same time and we got to spend some time together.

This is in Vail City Lovett, Rylan, Ashtyn, Maggie and Jeff pose for a family photo - how nice of them to line up from shortest to tallest.

Mom and I took Teagan into Vail City to meet up with Maggie and do some window shopping. Mom with Teagan at the Vail ice skating rink.

The second day that Craig and I went skiing we has some fresh snow and we posed for a photo before Craig decided to "try out" the Minturn Mile as he skied out of bounds.

After we went skiing we headed down the Mountain to Evergreen to spend some time with my dad and Delsa.
Dad with Teagan

We went down to the ice rink and took a nice walk, but it was a little windy (that is why you don't see Teagan in her stroller)

The next day we came back to go ice skating together, Dad and Delsa watched Teagan. It was fun I don't think I have every skating on a real frozen lake or if I have it has been a very long time. We even had some light snow fall while we skated, then we joined Dad and Delsa for dinner at the local BBQ place.

We then went to see John, Debbie, Anika and Collin. Anika playing with her big cousins.

I can't believe how big Collin has gotten. He smiled for a quick photo

Anika showing Teagan her new pony

Debbie gives Teagan a great big hug

Craig sat down on the computer and the kids all watched Sesame Street on the the computer.

Every great trip has to come to an end as so this trip came to an end and we flew back to Virginia on Valentine's Day.

Not quite quick enough

I will write more soon to update all the exciting new adventures in the land of Teagan, but before I forget I wanted to let you know that over the last week Teagan has gotten more steady on her feet and can stand on her own and has even take 1-2 steps towards mommy and daddy, but today while I had her in her highchair and I was putting away the dishes she was reaching for her book on the table and screaming. So I did what any untrained first mom does and give her what she wants so she will stop screaming. I know I know reinforce the positive behavior, NOT the negative behavior, but putting that aside I am glad I gave her the book because I go back to putting away the dishes and a hear her "talking" and I look back and she is turning the pages and "reading" something on each page. It might be the cutest thing I have seen her do yet. I tried to get the video camera, but as you guessed it by the title of the blog I was "not quite quick enough" and when I left the room the screaming returned and not the sweet reader...(more later).
