Feb - So I spoke too soon with the big snow of December.

So we thought we had a big snow storm in December, but little did we know the DC area was trying to break a record that has been around for over 100 years. On Feb 5th the snow started around 10 in the morning and by 2pm was sticking and in the course of 24 hours or close to that we got 30 inches in Virginia. I know I said Virginia. Craig started the shoveling out process at 3am and was lucky enough to be outside when the plow came by and asked the driver to give our driveway (which feels the a full street) a plow and help the process of digging out along. Throughout the day there was a lot more shoveling by us and our neighbors but we were able to finally get out. Here are some pictures of the snow on Saturday night after we had shoveled.

This is at about 6pm after the snow had stopped

We tried to push forward with the weekend. Sunday was the Superbowl and we had a huge party planned. It ended up being a MUCH MUCH smaller get together since nobody could get out of there house and lots of our friends has seen no snow plows yet in the weekend. The Superbowl was great with the on-side kick for the Saints and their eventual victory. Monday my call week ended and we were off to the airport for our trip to Colorado. We were lucky the airport re-opened on Monday and mom who was suppose to originally leave on Friday had been rescheduled to leave Monday as well. We got to Colorado and drove up to Evergreen to spend time with Noni and Papa. Teagan slept on the lower part of a trundle bed (yes no crib or pack and play) and this was fairly smooth. The next morning before we left to go up to Fort Collins and Loveland we had to snap a few photos of Teagan lounging on a chair her size with her feet up and of course the big kicker of the photo is she is choosing to read Mozart instead of Goodnight Gorilla one of her favorite books.

After her "quick read of Mozart" we got dressed and headed up to see my Grandfather in Fort Collins. It was great to see him and he even sang to Teagan when she started to fuss. From Fort Collins we headed back to Loveland to hangout with the Polifka's and meet the newest addition to the Baran family. JOEY. He is already 4 months old and look at how cute he is.

This is Teagan and Joey sitting together. Yes I did say he is only 4 months and already sitting up by himself. Teagan is at a safe distance so that she doesn't accidentally knock him over.

Maddie and Tonya came down to visit once she got off work. I couldn't believe how big Maddie has gotten. She shared her toys (and chairs) so well, I was impressed.

We went out for a great Italian dinner. Teagan got to show off her love for eating lemons, and then we stayed with Tonya, Joe, Maddie and Joey for the night. Maddie said Teagan didn't even wake her up this year. In the morning we took Teagan and Maddie to the park to swing and then said our goodbye for now and went down to pick up mom from Charline's and to head up the mountains. We went swimming when we got up to the pool and Teagan had a blast. Thursday was a low key day. Teagan dressed in her new sweatsuit Grandma embroidered for her.

She was trying to escape through the fire doors, but then we took her to "FUN with Foam."

At the condo they do a kid activity were they put a pile of shaving cream on the table and let the kids draw and play with it. Teagan was timid initially and didn't want to get her hands dirty, but then she dug in and it must have reminded her of shampoo because she didn't want to draw in it she just wanted to rub it in her hair. It made for a cute video which I will try to upload.

Craig and I went skiing at Copper mtn on Friday and had a blast. Debbie, Jon, Anika and Collin came up Friday night and then on Saturday we all went skiing again. It was a lot of fun. After skiing Craig was showing Anika the video he took on his phone of Teagan with the foam in her hair.

WHO ME?

Sunday we celebrated Valentine's Day in the morning with everyone and then headed down the mountain to see Maggie and her family and help celebrate her aunt Mary and her sister Katie's B-day.

Teagan playing with Sarah's kitty. I think this was the last month before Teagan could say the "K" sound so she still called all cats/kitties a "Nee". She loved Sarah's Nee

After the birthday party we headed to my dad's for another great meal. Teagan tried out a booster seat for the first time and I have to say it did work better then the high chair. By better I mean she liked it better.

In the morning Teagan played ball with Delsa and Sami and Jazzy watched her closely, they were not sure why someone was playing with their ball without them.

We ended our great trip with stop at the Evergreen rec center so Teagan could enjoy the pool. She had a blast and couldn't get enough of the fountains. We were sad to say goodbye, but it was such a great trip we will have to repeat it soon.

And back to Virginia we went...
