The New Rug

Who knew someone could get so excited over a new rug? My mom brought over this sheepskin rug and Teagan thought it was soooo cool. I was changing her into PJs but of course this means at least a few minutes of running around in her diaper. When she walked across the rug she immediated stopped and bend down to "pet" it and then she decided she there would be no bedtime in the near future as she needed to hangout on the new soft bed.

January 2010

We started off the New Year in Warrenton to see the California Emdadi's again before they leave to get back to the west coast.

We got the whole group together for a photo.

Here is Fereshteh and Shirin. Fereshteh was able to come down from New York to visit and it is always nice to see Shirin.

We got a great photo of Bubba, his brother and Mehdi

Teagan with Craig, Shedah and Tanya

Vanessa, Amy, Craig and Sahid

Besides getting to spend time with her family Teagan got to play with her new favorite animal Vanessa's bunny (second are the goats)

She chased him around, and around, and around his cage. Poor bunny

Kourtney is doing great in hair school and I love coming home to see how she did Teagan's hair for the day since I am lucky if Teagan will let me comb her hair. I should let you know the combing of Teagan's hair can be difficult since she has her first (and can I naively say... only) "bad" habit which makes this a challenge. She likes to twist her hair around her fingers when she is tired and she if VERY GOOD at this... think Rastafarian dreadlocks. Kourtney got Teagan's hair into a perfect ponytail with bangs curled and all. The ponytail is our new trick to pull the hair away from Teagan's fingers to avoid the dreaded tangles.

Teagan watching "Yo Gabba Gabba". She loves Foufa - the pink one on the left

Kourtney curled her hair today with the side ponytail. Don't mind the ketchup on her chin. She is into a phase where the ketchup is not only used for dipping, but she also likes to eat it straight with her spoon or fingers which ever is available.

Teagan saying "CHEESE", and showing off that she has all her teeth now.

We were finally able to get up to Maryland to meet Asher for the first time and allow Teagan and Ethan to play together.

Say hello to Asher

Here is Ethan and Teagan enjoying milkshakes that Steve made for them. Yummy!

I am posting this on my mom's big B-day, so Happy Birthday Eva!!! We had a great time at lunch and always.

One last snow for December 09 on New Years Eve

We woke up to see more snow on New Years Eve. We didn't even change Teagan out of her PJs we just put her coat and hat over them. Craig took Teagan sledding down the hill in our backyard.

Here he is pulling her on the sled up the hill.

Then action shots of them sledding down.

My little snow princess had a blast

Tanya turns 4

The Niak's had another wonderful birthday party and get together on Saturday. They had a lot of balloons and they were a big hit. Teagan can’t stop looking at them and trying to collect as many as possible

Christmas 2009

The California Emdadis came out to visit for Christmas. It was great to see everyone again. The day was very relaxing thanks to Amy and Mehdi who made tons of fantastic food. Before we headed outside to say hello to the goats.

The day was fun filled and everyone had a good time.

The Big December Snow

We got a heads up from Craig's parents that DC was going to get a big snow storm so we knew we were going to be driving back into snow but we had no idea how much snow we were going to get. We ended up getting 20 inches of snow in Sterling.

The next morning 12/19/2009 our neighbors shoveled out an “igloo” and Teagan enjoyed her vantage point.

This photo tries to so the amount of snow we got in terms of depth

Christmas Eve:
One of my co-workers has a great tradition that he let us in on. He passes out special "Reindeer Food" that you sprinkle on your lawn and "the magic glitter sparkling in the moonlight and the smell of the oats will guide Rudolf to your home." It worked for us and it was a lot of fun.
Teagan wasn't sure about this initially

But then she really got into it

VACATION AT LAST...

So long story short Craig and my mom put together a vacation in 3 days after finding out we could no longer go on the cruise that we had booked. The Walds were able join us and it was a great vacation.

After a long drive we were all excited to get out of the car and stretch our legs. We went out on the beach and before we could get Teagan’s suit on she was off to enjoy the water.
Freedom at last...

We finally got her dressed and she was in the water.

Teagan found the birds on the beach fun to chase

Teagan enjoying the many slides. This was a new word for her on arrival to Florida but a staple in her vocab now.

Play time with Teagan as she enjoyed the funny mirror in the kids play area

Teagan got to play with her cousins and she had a blast.

Teagan got to try her hand at coconut painting after a day at the beach.

...and while she worked on hers, daddy made her a coconut Elmo (her favorite thing at this time)

We ate some great seafood while in Florida. The first night with Debbie, Anika and Collin we went out to a great restaurant called Fishlips and the kids had a great time running around the Christmas tree that was up and listening to the live music.

Teagan examining the Christmas balls in great detail

Anika playing around with the décor

I do love to get photos with Teagan’s Bed-head and this is no exception since this looks to me like the perfect Christmas photo – (she is looking out the window at the pool.)

Collin helps Teagan get down the beach. These buckets are empty now but with the help of Craig all the kids had tons of beautiful shells at the end of the trip.

There was a great animal show at our resort. It was informative and fun and everyone got to hold any of the animals that they wanted to.
